The Rix Centre researches and develops different ways that multimedia can help to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities and their supporters.
We design websites that are innovative and accessible and we work with people with learning disabilities, their families and professionals to test them out.
We provide web production services, research & consultancy for groups and organisations, sharing our expertise in making content accessible for users with learning disabilities.
We offer training courses for people with learning disabilities and their supporters including, social care workers, teachers, parents and peers.
We share best practice with practitioners, academics, policy-makers and people with learning disabilities themselves.
We have a website for multimedia & learning disability practitioners called ‘The Big Tree’ that serves as an online home for practitioners who these innovative and uniquely effective ways of improving people’s lives.
