The Rix Centre and London Borough of Newham are pleased to announce the launch ‘Newham Easy Read’ a ‘Portal’ website for transition and beyond.
A ‘Portal’ is a website that links to others gathered together to provide information on a particular topic or theme. This particular Portal brings together information from over 40 ‘satellite’ or linked sites, being created using the same ‘template’ by local people. In fact, people with learning disabilities, with a little help from their supporters, are making more than half of the satellite sites themselves. The Portal, therefore, is a unique initiative. Local organisations and services are getting involved too, and making their information accessible for people with learning disabilities accessible online.
