New Multimedia Advocacy e-Learning Course! Book now!

This September The Rix Centre are celebrating the launch of our new Foundation in Multimedia Advocacy e-learning course. The new course is the distillation of expertise gained over eight years of delivering  face-to-face Multimedia Advocacy courses to education and care professionals. We have been working with the University of East London throughout 2013 to develop the course, which is our first ever fully-online version of  Multimedia Advocacy training delivery.

Foundation in Multimedia Advocacy is an entry level introduction to the person-centred Multimedia Advocacy approach for anyone who works with, supports or cares for people with learning disabilities. The course equips trainees with IT and multimedia skills,  a strong understanding of the basic principles for person-centred working and how to apply these in real-work situations, as well as how to develop the way they work by reflecting on their own practice. Trainees will learn how to work with cameras, video and sound clips and computers to create dynamic multimedia Person-Centred Plans. The course is made up of 12 units of study, each containing a combination of online tutorials, dynamic learning activities, video examples and support materials.  As the course is fully-online trainees can organise their study flexibly around their existing schedules and study at a pace that suits them.

The University of East London are supporting a special launch rate of £90 per person with additional discounts for bulk bookings. The special prices will be available for anyone registering before December 2013, so book soon to take advantage of the discounted rates.  Registration is ongoing to so you can join the course and start studying at anytime.  To book your place now please email rixadmin@uel.ac.uk or call us on 0208 223 7561.
