APPROACH

Project APPLE's methodology combines iterative product development, video ethnography and critical evaluation of experience within the project work cycle. The evaluation and production process brings together a range of disciplines and research methodologies, all of which apply a user-centred approach. As well as academic researchers and corporate business partners, through the participation of the UK's leading disability charity Mencap, people with learning disabilities constitute active participants as well as the ultimate beneficiaries of the Project. For example, the trial of the VLE will entail its evaluation with people who have cognitive disabilities alongside professionals and personal supporters in a range of learning contexts.
