Our Mission
Our mission is:
To help people tackle real world problems. People with learning disabilities need support to organise their thoughts, harness their memories and communicate and socialise effectively.
To support people with all kinds and ‘levels’ of learning disability.
To provide a professional community service with a proven track record of successful pilot projects, trials and testimonials.
To directly address key government guidance for ‘valuing people’ and to supplement person-centred support with technologies tailored for the user.
To manage the user’s engagement with the Internet by providing tools and services. These make the Internet accessible for people with learning disabilities, bringing information to them and encouraging safe and rewarding contact with other people.
To combine academic rigour in researching technologies and training with practical experience of developing and delivering services in the community. This provides a ‘virtuous circle’ of innovation with feedback from the field.
To help people with learning disabilities to have a ‘voice’ through tools and support services, providing a route for them to communicate with others and take more control of their lives.
